In this blog post we will learn what is the difference between PowerApps per app plan vs per user plan.
Power Apps is a low code/no code application platform that enables enterprises to digitize business operations by easily creating line of business applications and customizing existing Office 365 and SharePoint applications and Applications for Dynamics 365.

You must have a license to use Power Apps, full Power Apps capabilities are licensed on a standalone basis.
limited Power Apps capabilities are included within select Office 365 and Dynamics 365 licenses.

PowerApps per app plan also called “per user and per app ”

Characteristics

  • Individual users can run 1 applications for a specific business scenario based on the full Power Apps capabilities.
  • It allows organizations to get started with the platform at a lower entry point.
  • The Power Apps per app plan allows individual users to run 1 custom application (be it canvas or model) or access 1 custom portal based on the full capabilities of Power Apps.
  • Model-driven apps that contain embedded canvas apps are not subject to the one-app restriction, so these embedded canvas apps within a model-driven app will not count towards the one-app limit.
  • You can use Standard connectors, Premium, custom connectors and On premises data gateway to connect to your data.
  • You can use Utilize Data verse to store and manage your data, you can create and access custom tables (includes complex tables) but you can read only Dynamics 365 restricted tables.
    • Dataverse Database capacity 50 MB.
    • Dataverse File capacity 400 MB.
  • You can execute Cloud flows (Automated, instant, and scheduled flows) and Business process flows within app context and this license do not include desktop flow functionality.
  • It will give you AI Builder service credits 250 credits
  • Theses licenses are sold as tenant level capacity and not assigned to users in Active Directory.
  • These licenses need to be assigned to specific environments and to individual users.

  • The Power Apps per user plan allows licensed users to run unlimited custom applications based on the full capabilities of Power Apps “unlimited canvas and model driven” and access unlimited custom portals .
  • You can use Standard connectors, Premium, custom connectors and On premises data gateway to connect to your data.
  • You can use Utilize Data verse to store and manage your data, you can create and access custom tables (includes complex tables) but you can read only Dynamics 365 restricted tables.
    • Dataverse Database capacity 250 MB.
    • Dataverse File capacity 2 GB.
  • You can execute Cloud flows (Automated, instant, and scheduled flows) and Business process flows within app context and this license do not include desktop flow functionality.
  • It will give you AI Builder service credits 500 credits
